Are Self-driving Cars Safe Now In 2013?

Self driving car on the roadCan we ever ride in a vehicle that drives itself? Well the state of California and Nevada thinks so. In fact Google has been lobbying for months and it paid off in 2012 when Clark County allow the initiative to push though to allow the search engine software/hardware company to give these nerds a try. Now, how dangerous is it? Only time will tell if it is safe enough for people to take the chance and risk a car accident.

The new technology break through will be good until there is a major accident and someone gets fatally hurt. We are not wishing or hoping for a fatally or an accident however it usually takes two cars to cause an accident and usually two people to blame in order to meet in court. In the drive itself vehicle you will be up against some representative of Google or a car dealership.

Yes this may be a challenge but who know this may never happen according to the new law that passed in the Silver State. I personally love the idea but the biggest challenge I think going forward is to get everyone on-board with the concept and pay for their system to be installed into or onto their own car before leaving the used car lot. Let me tell you at the moment it does not look cool seeing a big foreign looking object on your vehicle but I can imagine the feeling feels good.

I love the idea of advancing in the transportation arena however I think we are years away from allowing a car to drive itself and interact it with other human driven cars. I hope that this helps but who knows until that time comes.  The future is here and are grand children may never know what it feels like to go somewhere without being traced or tracked down by some algorithm offering things to purchase in return for free fuel.

Those advertisements are bound to happen. The main question is if they are willing to compensate the user after purchasing through their marketing channels and ads, because we know and understand how strong of an advertisement angle Google has when wanting to make sure nothing is left on the table not even a drop in terms of marketing.
